Recent history has proven that anytime the government says it's going to do something that will make things better, we should run away screaming and do what ever it is that we can to STOP Them from doing what they want. Our founding fathers wanted us to have a very healthy sense of distrust of those in power saying they are going to make things better, but sadly to many today what the government to take care of them... and the government is going to take over the Internet by calling it Net Neutrality. Anyone else wondering why this is a lot like the miss-named AFFORDABLE CARE ACT? Because it's just the same like that Obama said about us liking our current plan and doctor and being allowed to keep it (and YES boys and girls, that was a lie because he KNEW IT WAS A LIE THE FIRST TIME HE SAID IT).

The miss-named "Net Neutrality" goes into effect and allows the FCC to regulate what we do on the internet. Bloggers will end up being regulated by the FCC. Yes, that's right. The people who have been fighting a loosing battle at keeping the mainstream media honest will be regulated by the government who wants to control the information that YOU ARE GETTING.

Think about this....

The government will have total control over the information that you can get. That's not a good thing. How many lies have we been catching our leaders in thanks to independent bloggers??? If not for Bloggers there would be an Anthony Weiner well on his way up the ladder to the White House. That Idiot next door in South Carolina who was cheating on his wife in South America when he told everyone he was hiking would have been a contender for the White House as well.

Thune-Upton bill is vulnerable to litigation, contrary to what some of the bill's proponents have suggested. The bill introduces new statutory ambiguities for the FCC to interpret, opening the door to unanticipated legal challenges… it also directs the FCC to enforce the bill's new rules through case-by-case proceedings, a process that by design involves administrative courts, judges and new lawsuits. The lengthy nature of these proceedings can prolong contentious behavior… and with the IRS targeting political opponents of the current Administration means that the FCC will be able to regulate what gets posted to the Internet. HuffPost, Daily Kos, The Blaze, Drudge Report and other Bloggers of the same type, the 21st Century Pamphleteers who have been key on catching politicians and media personalities in lies would then be at the mercy of the bureaucrats that run the government who have been repeatedly caught in a widespread operation of oppression of political thought that went counter to what they wanted.

The IRS targeting is just the tip of the iceberg. Bureaucrats have been repeatedly caught over the past decades using their power to stalk exes, to cause problems for people who they have felt insulted or demeaned them… or worse to oppress dissenting political thought. In all these cases they were directly violating the First Amendment (Freedom of Speech, Press AND Religion) with the illegal wiretaps of reporters phones who were working on stories that went counter to what Obama wanted (including the hacking of personal and work computers to plant evidence). The Second Amendment with the onslaught of attacks to take that right away with all kinds of impossible political and legal gymnastics that goes all the way back to Fast and Furious. Violating the Fourth Amendment with the kinds of things they have done to reporters investigating scandals of the current administration, reading our emails and monitoring our social networks and contacts… and that’s just the start of what they’ve been doing. The Ninth and Tenth Amendment violations that pretty much goes hand-in-hand with the other violations already listed.

As currently drafted, the Thune-Upton bill does a hell of a lot more harm than good… and it all boils down to the fact that this is a solution for something that is NOT a problem.

So go ahead and cut your own throats and support this thing... when we who have opposed it are proven right again, we'll just shake our heads and beg you to listen to us next time. But just like with the Affordable Care Act, you won't.
